December 15 Selling cars and writing blogsHere we are, just about to end this contest. It's been fun, i really enjoyed it and i'm sure the next of the competitors enjoyed it just as much as i did. SEO contests revolutionized the internet search engine ranking factor, i still remember the time when all it took for a webmaster to have a website and he was ranked number #1 immediately with no relation to the quality of content, inbound links or anything similar. And so now when there's only a few weeks to go, i must say it was hell of a fun! I won the first checkpoint's first place and i'm proud of it and now even when i'm not first in all 3 major search engines i'm glad i had the chance of participating. The carcasher.com website is in the top 10 results for "used cars" keywords and i believe the goal was reached. I will update again just near the end. The periodical google update is also undergoing some changes - Google are very busy lately buying the internet (see: You Tube 1.6 billion deal)
So here's the deal - If you search for "used cars" on google you can see the carcasher.com website at #7, Yahoo is #8 and MSN or Live search it's number 9 (i think) so basically the contest is a complete success - the buzz is here.
So the SEO contest trend is here and it's BIG!
The cost of this SEO contest worth the result or in other words the ROI is excellent.
As for us we're somewhere in the top 20 Yahoo, top ....1000? in google and top 120 in MSN (hi hi)

Carcasherdotcom seocontest - a success. September 07 Seo contest update - carcasherdotcom seocontestThe september winners were announced and the search engine optimization sphere is heating up. The carcasherdotcom seocontest was launched on January and since them thousands of websites are participating including yours truely. There are only three months left before the end of the contest and it's getting more and more difficult to keep up with all the changes. Our blog has gone through so many changes during this time, including the switch from spaces.msn.com to spaces.live.com and there was a middle temporary switch that caused us to lose our well established rank in Yahoo and we were also rocking google. Since MSN is based mostly on spam we decided not to participate in the spam party and keep it clean, and so we are not visible on MSN. Another thing we lost during the blog switch was our 5 page rank and it will be nice to see it back again after the next page rank update. Our old ranking can be seen here: carcasherdotcom seocontest ranking. You can also see the 1st prize on Yahoo here. We will keep the updates during the month hopefully the search engines will appreciate the competition and give us a little push so we can overcome the competitors. We wish you all good luck! MSN has changed the whole concept and interface of spaces and now it's live - so to speak :)
So we're still on - best spot is Yahoo (#10) - the rest are basically useless.
And we will fight - for the heck of it - it's fun and totally harmless. We're not building any inbound links for SEO and we certainly don't count on others to do it for us - so we leave it for the search engines to appreciate the efforts of writing original content and posts from time to time.

Because of all of the updates with the blog host we lost our cool 5 Page rank in courtesy of google. so we're anticipating the same once this blog get's updated.
